The University Symphony Orchestra
The University Symphony Orchestra (of the University of Michigan) will present a program of orchestral classics organized around the themes of fate, destiny, and star-crossed love at Hill Auditorium on January 27th starting at 8:00 p.m.
The Orchestra will be conducted by Kenneth Kiesler and will feature faculty member Amy Porter on flute.
Joan Baez at The Ann Arbor Folk Festival
The legendary Joan Baez brings her talents to Hill Auditorium on January 30th. She will be performing, as part of her 75th birthday celebration tour, on the second night of the annual Ann Arbor Folk Festival. Other notable performers during the festival will include Yo La Tengo and City and Colour.
The Ann Arbor Folk Festival is a fundraiser for Michigan’s nonprofit home for Folk and Roots music “The Ark.” The Festival starts at 6:30 p.m. on both January 29th and 30th. You can find the full lineup and ticket information on the Folk Festival site.

- Women’s Basketball will play Minnesota at Crisler Center January 31st starting at 12:30 p.m.
- Wrestling will take on Northwestern at Cliff Keen Arena January 29th starting at 7:00 p.m.
- Men’s Gymnastics will compete against Ohio State University at Cliff Keen Arena January 30th starting at 2:00 p.m.
- Women’s Tennis will compete against Ohio State University at the Varsity Tennis Center on January 31st starting at 1:00 p.m.
- Women’s Water Polo will play San Diego State at 11:30 a.m. and Marist at 7:40 p.m. at the Canham Natatorium on January 30th. They will also play Santa Barbara at 9:40 a.m. and Pacific at 5:20 p.m. at Canham Natatorium on January 31st.
- Men’s Lacrosse will play Marquette at Oosterbaan Field House January 30th starting at 1:00 p.m.
Looking For Laughs
The Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase is hosting comedian Ricarlo Flanagan. Mr. Flanagan was featured during the 2015 season of Last Comic Standing and has appeared at the Just For Laughs Festival and at the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival.
