Festival in the Moonlight
FoolMoon, starting at dusk April 10th and continuing until midnight, is a processional of illuminated sculptures carried by dancing teams and marched all over Ann Arbor.
The Festival celebrates community participation and has a unique atmosphere, free and delicious treats, and craft brewing.
The processional starts between Washington and Ashley Streets and proceeds towards downtown.
There are three official starting places for the festival – “Farmers’ Market at Kerrytown, the University of Michigan Museum of Art and Slauson Middle School at 1019 W. Washington St. Participants are encouraged to bring their luminaries and meet between 7:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. to start the walk.”
Free Public Art Accessible to Everyone
FestiFools starts on Sunday April 12th at 4 p.m.. and, “brings students and community volunteers together to create unique public art that is free and accessible to everyone.”
The art is created by University of Michigan students and people throughout the Ann Arbor community. The art tends towards the theatrical – including huge and colorful papier-mache puppets.
